Local know-how
What we see in Littleton yards
Emerald ash borer was first confirmed in Littleton in June 2023, and ash trees across the city have been under pressure since. If you have an ash, have it inspected. A healthy tree can be protected, but one that has lost much of its canopy is usually past saving and should be removed before it becomes brittle and hazardous to climb.
The older core around Main Street has large, old trees on compact lots, often close to houses and garages. Neighborhoods farther south were planted in the 1970s and 1980s, and many of those trees are now big enough to need regular pruning to keep branches off roofs and out of the gutters.
Trees along the creeks and the South Platte corridor include large cottonwoods and willows that drop branches in wind and wet snow. If a big tree overhangs your house, a check before winter catches dead limbs before the first heavy storm brings them down.

5 out of 5 stars
The arborist checked our two ash trees and was honest that the small one was not worth treating. We injected the big one and replaced the small one with a different species. Clear prices for both.

A spring snow dropped a huge limb onto our garage roof late at night. They came out once the snow eased in the morning and lifted it off in sections. Took longer than I hoped, but they told us why.

They helped us pick a tree that will not grow into the power line, planted it at the right depth and left a watering schedule on the fridge. It leafed out well this spring.
