Local know-how
What we see in Highlands Ranch yards
Highlands Ranch is a master-planned community, and most of its trees were planted from the 1980s onward. Many are now large enough to reach roofs and second-story windows, and a round of pruning to clear branches from the house is one of our most common jobs here.
Ash trees were planted widely in Highlands Ranch. Emerald ash borer was confirmed in nearby Parker in 2026, the first find in Douglas County, and Littleton and Centennial have had it for longer. If you have an ash, have it inspected. A healthy tree can be protected with injections, and one in decline can be replaced with a species better suited to the spot.
The community association rules cover many exterior changes, and removing or replacing a front yard tree can be one of them. Check your covenants first, and we will give you the details the association usually asks for.

A spring snow dropped a huge limb onto our garage roof late at night. They came out once the snow eased in the morning and lifted it off in sections. Took longer than I hoped, but they told us why.

They helped us pick a tree that will not grow into the power line, planted it at the right depth and left a watering schedule on the fridge. It leafed out well this spring.

The arborist checked our two ash trees and was honest that the small one was not worth treating. We injected the big one and replaced the small one with a different species. Clear prices for both.
