Local know-how
What we see in Westminster yards
Emerald ash borer was detected in Westminster in 2019, so ash trees here have been dealing with it for several years. Many have been treated, and many have died or been removed. If you have an untreated ash with a thinning canopy, have it looked at soon. Dead ash becomes brittle, and the longer it stands, the harder and more expensive it is to take down safely.
Neighborhoods in Westminster run from the 1960s through the 1990s, with mature shade trees on the older streets and younger trees in newer areas. Replacing a lost ash is a good moment to choose a different species, so the street is not as exposed to the next pest.
Ask for proof of license and insurance from any tree company, and check what your city requires for work on trees near the street.

A spring snow dropped a huge limb onto our garage roof late at night. They came out once the snow eased in the morning and lifted it off in sections. Took longer than I hoped, but they told us why.

They helped us pick a tree that will not grow into the power line, planted it at the right depth and left a watering schedule on the fridge. It leafed out well this spring.

The arborist checked our two ash trees and was honest that the small one was not worth treating. We injected the big one and replaced the small one with a different species. Clear prices for both.
